4:10pm hell yes! bo 7 mon (7 course beef) on sunday with my parents at anh hong. *drool* my mom said they were famous for it in vietnam...and i guess the kids were childhood playmates of my mom's as well. yippee!

2:00pm last night i had one of a couple recurring dreams. the one where my teeth fall out and i can taste the blood in my mouth. the only difference was that this time, the taste of blood was even more vivid and i could feel the throbbing pain. i wonder what triggers this?

going to a hockey game tomorrow. i hope i don't get hit by a puck and die. if you don't hear from me again, that's probably what happened.

9:07am so i didn't have pinkeye. it was just a 24-hour eye infection or something. good food this weekend: ramen at tan po po, dumplings at kirin (not nearly as good as san tung), el pollo loco (just opened in san pablo), your place thai cuisine, sa-wooei thai cuisine, and joe's crab shack (where the waitresses dance). yum. good thing i work out regularly. in the forum: what restaurants do you recommend?

12:55pm i saw angie stone last night at the paramount. the show rocked. this morning, i woke up with pinkeye. AGH! so i guess i can't go out anywhere this weekend that will make my glasses fog up. cuz then i can't see jack shit. buggers. it also seems that i am now allergic to spring.

• pizza skins at pizzeria uno (A deep dish pizza crust filled and baked with fresh mashed potatoes, Cheddar cheese, and crisp bacon. Served with sour cream.)
• dumplings and pot stickers at san tung
• koryo wooden charcoal bbq
• katana-ya ramen (though i don't particularly like any of their ramen)

11:15am i graduated from an all-girl's private catholic school 5.5 years ago. i was reading the alumni magazine a few days ago, and i'm quite impressed by the progress the school has made in terms of programs and facilities. what weirded me out, though, was reading what my class was up to. of the 95 girls who graduated from my class, 5-6 have had babies, and 2 got married. its strange to think we're the same age.

1. What's your favorite animal? monkeys. cute, though some are also quite frightening and too humanlike.

2. What pets have you had in your lifetime? a hamster, several fish, a dog (for 2 weeks), and lots and lots and lots of bunnies (they kept multiplying!).

3. Is there any specific pet that you've wanted but never had? Why? i want a dog. but i'll have to wait until i'm ready to settle down, stop moving, and make that commitment. so it won't be for a while.

4. Are you allergic to any animals? nope.

5. Do you have any 'pet' pet peeves (your pets or others')? poorly trained/badly behaved animals (and children). wet dog smell. smelly animals. i hate ALL birds. and i'm not particularly fond of cats.

ghost world is totally my kind of humor. i'm in the middle of watching malcolm x. elijah mohammed reminds me of yoda. he's small, he talks funny, and he speaks in riddles.

3:15pm it smells like paint & spackle in the office. i had forgotten until just now...but it smells just like my childhood! when i was 5, we were living in a one bedroom apartment walking distance from my grandparents' house. a year later, my parents had bought a one-bedroom house a mile away. of course, it was condemned, so our house was in a perpetual state of reconstruction and construction until i was 13, after we had added two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room. all that time, the smell of sawdust, spackle, paint, varnish...all that good stuff were a very familiar smell. its funny, i can't recall memories unless something spurs it. but with the right trigger, the memory is vivid.

1. What makes you homesick? my own bed, those i love, and familiar food

2. Where is "home" for you? Is it where you are living now, or somewhere else (ie: Mom & Dad's house, particular state/city)? in general, home is the bay area. in front of my parents, i am only to refer to their house as home, not where i am currently living (in sin).

3. What makes it home for you? People? Things? my parents' house will always be considered home to me...though it becomes less and less a home as time wears on (i haven't lived with them in almost 7 years) and more a storage space. wherever i live with j is also considered home to me. plus all of the shit i use every day is there.

4. Where is the furthest you've been from home, miles-wise? 7826 miles from San Francisco to Saigon, Vietnam. That was almost 3 years ago. I left SFO for Saigon, Vietnam on March 13, 1999 and came back sometime that May.

5. What are your plans for this weekend? always the same question #5. tonight is my friend's birthday, so we're going to some steakhouse in palo alto. also, visit with my friend & her baby as well as some other good good friends i haven't seen in a while. kickboxing, shooting...dunno what else yet. j's boys are in town, so who knows. have a good, safe weekend all!

5:05pm fucking hell. i just had to explain the difference between 'may be' and 'maybe' to one of my coworkers. he didn't know there even was a difference. bad grammar and spelling are one of my pet peeves.

10:30am yesterday, someone called me racist, which surprised me more than offended me. i said something about not really being attracted to white people (though i have dated them in my past). in general, i find white people to be physically unattractive to me (too hairy and pink). is that really racist? its not like i said all white people are ignorant rednecks. i just said that on the whole, i don't find them physically appealing to me, similar to how i don't find short guys or fat guys attractive, regardless of race...what do you think?. tell me you think its racist if you think it is...i'm curious.

2:00pm so what's the proper etiquette for running into people you know but have no desire to talk to? made eye contact with a high school formal date (from 7 years ago) at the mall over the weekend. i promptly ducked behind a rack of clothes. i find that i duck out of this kind of crap pretty often. i figure, if i cared or they cared to keep in touch, we would have. i don't really care what everyone else is doing now. of course, that probably just makes me look like a rude bitch, but oh well. what would you do?

2:53pm don't you hate it when you look up a word in the dictionary only to find that the definition of the word contains another form of the same word you're looking up? there should be a rule against that.

11:11am been really really swamped this week. here's the friday five:

1. What's your favorite vacation spot? i'll go anywhere. future desired destination spots: mexico, cuba, dominican republic, caribbean, thailand, hawaii, japan, hong kong, taiwan. vegas is always good for a quick getaway.

3. What would be your dream vacation?a year spent everywhere

4. If you could go on a road-trip with anyone, who would it be and why?j. cuz my favorite part of road trips is staring at the scenery whizzing by, and his favorite part is driving. it works out nicely. i can't fully relax and get into vacation mode if i have to concentrate on driving.

What are your plans for this weekend? i've been out of town or working for the past 3 weekends, so this weekend, i'm gonna relax and do as little as possible. maybe go to the races, definitely kickboxing, meet up (separately) with two friends who have both had new babies i haven't met yet (bella and christian), talk to my parents, chill...
